Digi Scrapping

I know that Jenny and Mom will appreciate this. I recently picked up this special issue of Creating Keepsakes called Computer Tricks for Scrapbooking at work, (retails for $14.95, USE A COUPON). It is such a great instructors manual on basic tips and techniques of digital scrapbooking. Or hybrid scrapping, which is what I do the most. It teaches you these techniques with Adobe Photo Elements 5, but if you are familiar with your own program (I use PSP8), then you should be able to figure out how to apply the same effects. Here’s an example of a photo that I’ve altered.

Caleb would be proud. I’ve barely scratched the surface with this book. If you are into scrapbooking of any kind, I highly recommend this book. Happy Scrappin!

Martha, Martha, Martha!

Okay, so Martha Stewart Crafts has arrived at Michaels. Yeah. I’m thrilled. No, really, I’m trying to have an open mind about it. So all day while I was filling the sidecounter with Martha merchendise, I was thinking of ideas. I’m thinking that if I can get something out there now, while it’s new and fresh and nobody has it yet, then, maybe it would work for me. Anyway, basic idea, create an album altered with Martha product and sell it on eBay and see what happens. Okay, so I’ve finished the album except for I need to go buy one more ring tomorrow (I only had one), but I need opinions. Does this look done? Would you buy it? I need honest feedback, k? Help me out!

Now that I’ve had a nights sleep, I added to the album.  Comments please!

Nature Walk

Yesterday, I took the kids to visit Mom and Dad.  It was such a beautiful day, that Jenny and Dylan suggested we take a walk.  Needless to say, I took over a hundred pictures and had to trim that down before posting them on Snapfish.  Dylan had a ball discovering new things, while the rest of us were amazed at how much had changed up there on the field.  Everything was overgrown and the pond looked smaller.  Although Tarrah couldn’t walk freely (most of the weeds were as tall as us), she had a ball sitting up on “PopPop’s” shoulders.  Jenny and I agreed that the only thing missing was Isaac.

This PP is by Rhonna Farrer (I worship her!) and there are lots of odds and ends all over this page from every corner of the digital world.  I have such a huge collection of digital media, that I honestly can’t tell where they all came from.  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday…..Again?

So, I decided that I couldn’t stand Tarrah’s birthday page so I decided to redo it. I mean, come on. I create all these gorgeous pages and the one that matters the most, Tarrah’s First Birthday, and it sucked. This weekend happens to be a celebrity event at ScrapHappyKT.com for Karen Russell. Of course there’s a contest and of course I had to enter it. Everything fell together very quickly (which never happens). The scrapbooking Gods were definately with me. I totally love her birthday page now.

Journaling: “I hope for you a life of much joy and blessings to have all the love you need to be able to nurture your gifts to be blessed with good health in order to be all you are meant to be.”

Supplies used:

  • PP - Naratives by Karen Russell
  • Stickers - Narratives by Karen Russell, sticky pix, stiko, me & my big idea, & rhonna farrer
  • digital frame and journaling stamp by CottageArts Hopes & Dreams Sentiment pak

Spring is Here!

Spring is finally here! That snow storm Monday really put a damper on my week. I hate snow, and I hate driving in snow. I missed work which made the rest of my week horrible, because I’ve been playing catch up all week (working 10-13 hour shifts). But it looks like the weekend is almost here. And it’s beautiful outside! Yeah!! Dylan is coming over this weekend. We’ll have to do something nice outside.

Tarrah woke up with a fever this morning. I gave her some Tylenol and she’s feeling better, thank God. She’s running around terrorizing the apartment. My poor neighbor. I wonder what she thinks of the tiny patter of feet galloping across the floor every second. She doesn’t slow down at all, unless it’s for food. LOL! She sure loves her food.

Well I downloaded a new freebie kit last night from 2Peas by Tia Bennett called Spring Time Fever. I had to use it immediately. Who better to use it on than my blond beauty?
