One more day…

It’s been a very long weekend.  This was the weekend that Bob took Tarrah for the entire weekend.  She’s never been apart from Mommy that long.  I wonder how’s she’s doing for the 100th time as I curse Bob for not having a phone.  I’m sure she’s fine.  I try not to think about it too much.

You’d think I’d get plenty done without a two-year-old under foot.  Wouldn’t you know it, this is the weekend I get sick.  So after work, I pretty much vegged out Friday and Saturday night in front of the TV and started a new afghan.  Gasp, OMG!  No scrapbooking!  I did complete one digital layout for a contest, but I can’t share it here till the contest ends.  And it’s annonomous, so I can’t link you to it.  Sorry!

Last night as I was getting ready for bed, it struck me how lonely Tarrah’s Pooh bear was in her bed, all alone.  Yeah, okay, I really want my baby back now.  But, she got to spend the weekend with her brothers and sister and Daddy.  I’m sure she had a ball and didn’t think about me once.  Well, hopefully she thought about me a little.

So I have one more day to get through.  I’m off to work and when I get home, I can go pick her up.  Yeah!  Have a happy Sunday everybody!

Ho Hum…

Tarrah and I were out looking for things to do today. I have the weekend off, but there was no Dylan here today to keep us company. It gets lonely sometimes with just the two of us.

In the spirit of trying to have some fun, I decided to pull out some of Tarrah’s dress up clothes. She got to be a fairy! I let her run around outside for an hour in her Tink costume. Thank you Lindsay! She loves the pretty dresses.

I’ve been keeping busy with more designing today. I have a new paper kit on my website, SassyScrapperDesigns.com. It’s pretty hardcore looking, but hey, I create what I’m feeling. I was feeling pretty emotionally extreme today.

I’ve entered another contest. There’s a shocker. The Basic Grey website is having a contest for their new collection Obscure. Basic Grey is my favorite brand of scrapbook paper. Any chance to win their stuff and I’m in. So they posted my entry in their gallery. Check it out!

Tarrah and I watched the new movie Flushed Away tonight. It was cute, and she loved it. I think her favorite part was the singing slugs. She sure loves music. And then Mommy made her sit through Flicka. I cried like a baby throughout most of it. Maybe it’s almost that time of the month?

New website, new contest, new, new, new!

I’ve finally got my website up and running. It’s nothing fabulous right now. Until I have the time to design the look I want, it’s just white with my header. It’s kind of exciting. It’s located at SassyScrapperDesigns.com. I have my own .com. Amazing, right? Anyway, all my freebies will be posted up there from now on.

I’ve entered a new contest, Stand Up and Scrap. It’s for digital scrapping. It’s completely annonomous, so I can’t show you the LO I just created, but man, the first challenge was, well, a challenge. So I can tell that this won’t be a walk in the park. I’ve already bared my soul…he, he, he.

So wish me luck on another great scrappin’ adventure. This friday I get to enjoy the crop night at work. It’s been so long since I’ve paper scrapped. I don’t know if I remember how. LOL! Come and join us if you’re local! It’s at the Ithaca Michaels!!!

This is me as a cute little thing!  I’ve been revamping old photos.  Got the idea from Jenny.  I’ll have to start scrapping with my Grandfather’s photos too!  :)

A step in the right direction.

Published! Imagine my surprise and joy when I opened my email yesterday to find that I’m going to be published in Digital Scrapbooking Magazine, their Feb/March 2008 issue. This is such a huge honor and part of my dream. I can’t express how excited, amazed, and humbled I am. Anyway, the LO that will be published is this one of Tarrah.

Really Bummed.

So Tarrah’s mug didn’t make it through to round 2 in the contest. I really don’t understand it. I don’t mean to have sour grapes but, I thought for sure I’d make it to round 2. I had 4 pages of comments praising my lo. It’s defeats like this that really get me down. I keep submitting to all these contests and design teams and magazines to be published and nothing. I’m not good enough. It’s very discouraging. I am so bummed. I don’t know what they are looking for. I’m starting to think that maybe I’m not good enough and I just won’t ever make anything of my designs.

Potty Training.

My pretty baby is growing up so fast.  Her crib is now a big girl bed and we’re in potty training mode.  Last night she went twice to the bathroom on her own.  I’m so proud of her.  Of course there was an accident later, but live and learn.  She’s in her terrible two’s for sure.  One minute she’s an angel and the next, she’s throwing toys in the bath tub.

She was taking a bubble bath and I heard the pitter patter of her feet.  (She gets out of the tub herself a lot.)  I asked if she was all done and she said “No!”, so I didn’t think anything of it when she ran back in there.  I didn’t notice her grabbin her brand new puppy (the one that barks.)  I heard a loud splash, and ran in there to check on her.  She was giving puppy a bath.  So, the poor, wet dog is air drying.  It’s a battery operated toy, so I hope it didn’t get ruined.  She just got it for her birthday.  Oh well, that’s part of the adventures of mommyhood, right?

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday, Tarrah Faye turned 2! It’s amazing how the months are flying by! She had a very long, exciting day. Bob took her to his family party, while I cleaned up the house, wrapped her presents, and went and got Dylan. It was supposed to be a surprise party, but when Bob returned with her, she was out cold. So, when she awakened from her nap, everybody was here and she was so happy. She hugged Dylan three times (maybe to make sure he was really there?) Poor kid. Anyway, she went straight into opening presents. But after each gift, she took the time to play with it first. In the pictures above, she’s donning a party outfit supplied by her grandparents. The theme was Dora the Explorer and you could tell when she was done opening all her presents. I think she owns every Dora doll ever made now. I can’t believe there were no duplicates. She was one happy girl when she went to bed last night. (She didn’t take one Dora to bed with her). She brought her puppy (from Mommy) and her baby doll (from Isaac and Lindsay), Thanx guys! All in all, I’d say after uploading all the pics from both my cameras and my mom’s (200+ pics, Mom), it was a sucess. Plenty to scrap with!
